LGV Class 1 & Class 2 Driver Training

Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to start a new career? Here at Norfolk Driver Training, we can help you to attain your LGV Class 1 ( Class C+E ) Articulated Vehicle and LGV Class 2 (Class C) Rigid Vehicle license.
LGV Class 1
( Class C+E ) Articulated Vehicle
Any articulated goods vehicle or drawbar combination from 12 tonnes to 44 tonnes also known as Category C+E or Articulated.
Class 2 ( Category C ) must be passed before
Class 1 ( Category C+E ) can be attained.
Minimum age to obtain a LGV license is 18 years old
LGV Class 2
( Class C ) Rigid Vehicle
Rigid vehicles over 7.5 tonnes with a maximum weight of 32 tonnes also known as Category C and Rigid.
Minimum age to obtain a LGV license is 18 years old
Course Details
1. Candidate must obtain form D4 from www.gov.uk and complete an LGV Medical with a GP.
2. Candidate should request form D2 from www.gov.uk and following the instructions, send this along with the completed D4 and their Driving Licence to the DVLA to gain the required provisional category entitlement.
3. Once licence returned, contact Norfolk Driver Training for your Online Theory Training ;
1a - Multiple Choice
1b - Hazard Perception
Mod2 - LGV CPC (if required)
4. Sit theory tests at your Local DVSA Centre
Contact Norfolk Driver Training with your test results. Re-sits can be arranged if required.
5. Start your practical training & take your practical test, practical test is taken part way through final session.

6. Module 4 - Practical CPC Demonstration
Attend a training session covering all aspects of the Module 4 'Show me, Tell me' test, including loading safely, security of the vehicle, preventing criminality, preventing risk and conducting safety checks.
Candidate will take the Module 4 test at DVSA centre.
The initial CPC Module 2 and Module 4 tests are very important for candidates who passed their driving test AFTER January 1997, as they will not legally be allowed to drive for hire or reward without them.
For candidates who passed their driving test BEFORE January 1997, the CPC module 2 & 4 is not necessary. They do however have to do 35 hours of Driver CPC classroom training. This is usually done with 5 x 7 hour classroom sessions at our centre.

Practical Training LGV Class 1 & Class 2
* 20 hour course £1000 + V.A.T. £200 + driving test fee £115 = TOTAL COST: £1315
All courses are on a 1 to 1 basis over 2.5 days and no sharing.
Additional Training
Extra training sessions or tailored training courses can be arranged, with a minimum driving period of 2 hours.
The cost of training is £50 per hour
Retests
If you do not pass your driving test 1st time, retest training can be arranged. To carry out a retest you will require the vehicle and instructor for ½ a day, to allow approximately 2 hours driving time and 1 ½ hours for the test.
Cost of ½ a day training £200 = V.A.T. £40 = £240 and driving test fee £115 = TOTAL COST: £355
Our Vehicles
All our training vehicles exceed the minimum vehicle requirements of the DVSA. They are modern, regularly maintained, well looked after and we take great pride in our vehicles - after all, they are our biggest advert!
All vehicles in our fleet, both Rigid and Articulated are automatic.
